• The plant protection lab mainly carries out the following research:
  1. Research in developing integrated pest management (IPM) techniques of crops in Taitung.
  2. Establish the management model of pesticide safety to prevent and cure pests and diseases of annona fruits.
  3. Test new pesticides for Bakanae disease of rice, bacterial leaf blight and rice blast disease.
  4. Extend the usage of pesticide on Bactrocera dorsalis in the annona fruits orchard.
  5. Monitor and investigate new pests and diseases in Annona.
  6. Research and develop the technology of dealing with pests and diseases happening to atemoya.
  7. Study on beneficial microorganisms in soil to control soil borne diseases.
  8. Investigate into pesticides resistance of mites from Annona.

To assist local farmers make a precise judgment on crop pest and then take proper control measures,we offer the consulting service in diagnosing and controlling and safe chemical treatments suggestions on crop pest, that it prevent pesticide misuse and abuse to affecting agricultural products safety and environmental impact .
