The rice lab is in charge of the following research:

1. Select and breed excellent rice varieties with high-quality, high-yield and anti-pest and test their yields through hybrid ization, observation, primary and advanced trials.
2. Test the location adaptability and fertilizer effect of the newly bred rice varieties.
3. Research on the water economizes use of culture module.
4. Experiments on the blast disease resistance of rice breeding lines.
5. Set up the physiological index of rice varieties currently cultivated in Taitung and study on its application.
6. Test the yield potential of rice and set up the standard procedures of producing high-quality rice.
7. Provide guidance on the cultivation of good-quality rice and organic rice, so as to benefit the sustainable operation of the rice farming industry.
