"Major Assignments"
The Agricultural Machinery Lab works in accordance with our core technology principles of "maintaining original traits", "procuring early ripening and a full harvest" and "being both organic and in line with LOHAS principles" while taking into account both the transformation of the local agricultural industry as well as the demands of the growing environment. In this way, we can forecast future trends of development and devote ourselves to agricultural machinery R&D, improvements based on experimental research and the demonstration/promotion of such improvements:
- Experimentation and research on the mechanization of management and operations in the cultivation of rice, fruit trees, and Indigenous people’s traditional crops; the promotion of mechanized and automated operations at fruit orchards; and the establishment of highly efficient, labor-saving, low-cost mechanized management and operation systems.
-
Development of various devices for agricultural product harvesting and processing.
-
Experimentation and improvements on the use of solar power and LED lights in pest prevention and harvest season adjustment.
-
Development of and experimentation on devices aimed at motorization, smart farming, and recycling surplus materials.
-
Demonstration and promotion of new farm machinery from other places in Taiwan and overseas that is suited for use in Taitung.
Current research:
- Experimentation on and improvement of millet cultivation management and harvesting machinery, and the establishment of a cultivation and post-harvest operational mode for machinery so as to reduce the need for human labor, in turn reducing costs of field management while accelerating industrial upgrade.
-
Experimentation on and improvement of the use of LED lights in pest prevention and harvest season adjustment.
-
Development of machinery and technology for mowing, fertilizing, pruning, and foehn wind damage prevention in sugar apple orchards to upgrade operational efficiency.
-
Development and promotion of mealybug removal machinery and a fruit basket lifting device for atemomyas, respectively reducing the number of mealybugs in exports and the need for manual labor.
-
Development of and experimentation on machinery for freezing and processing atemoyas.
-
Demonstration and promotion of rice-field mowing machines to reduce the need for manual labor in organic rice fields and thereby support the government policy of increasing organic rice field hectarage.
-
Development of solar-powered motorized transport vehicles and fully automated grain seeding machinery to reduce carbon emissions and enhance smart farming.
-
Development of machinery and technology for rice-straw recycling as part of the ecofriendly push to recycle surplus materials.
