The rice lab is in charge of the following research:

1. Selecting and breeding excellent rice varieties with high quality, high yield, and pest resistance, and testing their yields through hybridization, observation, primary trials, and advanced trials.
2. Testing the location adaptability and fertilizer response of newly bred rice varieties.
3. Researching water-saving cultivation models.
4. Conducting experiments on the blast disease resistance of rice breeding lines.
5. Establishing the physiological indices of rice varieties currently cultivated in Taitung and studying their applications.
6. Testing the yield potential of rice and developing standard procedures for producing high-quality rice.
7. Providing guidance on the cultivation of high-quality rice and organic rice to promote the sustainable development of the rice farming industry.
