Demonstration of Healthy Management of Atemoya was held at Beinan Township on November 20, 2013, to teach related concepts to growers. Atemoya is a very important crop for Taitung, and annual exports have continually increased over recent years. For this reason, we must be even more concerned with maintaining excellent quality so as to establish a good reputation with consumers and gain their confidence in an effort to guarantee the industry's sustainability. Due to the mealybugs, the toughest adversary of growers, Mainland China has asked Taiwan to put more effort into prevention as this may become a possible barrier to trade. As for other issues such as yellowing and the use of agrochemicals, we hope that through our promotion of healthy management concepts, growers will produce safe, high-quality fruit so as to achieve sustainability for the benefit of consumers, themselves and the environment.
