Dwarfing a jackfruit tree via pruning is a three-year process in which 1/4 of the branches are removed each year. This allows the tree to grow in open center form with a trunk of 1.0-1.5 meters tall and branches of 3-4 meters long. Besides making the tree smaller and shorter while increasing the number of areas on the tree that produce fruit, it also makes harvesting much easier as the fruit tends to grow in concentrated areas closer to the ground.
