TTDARES Holds “Green Elderly Care Event: Succulent Potting Workshops”—Healthy Fun for Seniors!

2022-07-29

On July 13 and 14, and again on July 27 and 28, the Taitung District Agricultural Research and Extension Station (TTDARES) of the Council of Agriculture, Executive Yuan and the Changbin Farmers’ Association jointly initiated the 2022 Agricultural Integration Consulting System Program in holding the 2022 Green Elderly Care Event: Succulent Potting Beginner and Advanced Workshops at the Changbin Farmers’ Association Green Elderly Care Station and the Zhenbing Activity Center. The workshops are focused on teaching attendees the basics of how to plant and care for succulents, and they will serve as a reference for Green Elderly Care Events in the future.
The workshops not only allow attendees to enjoy the fun of planting but also to make novel, heartwarming memories. The TTDARES hopes the attendees obtain joy through the experience and interaction with the plants, boosting their mental and physical health. It is yet another of the many values of agriculture.

TTDARES Director Chen Hsin-yen speaks at the opening. Seniors use their senses of sight, hearing, smell, and touch while potting their succulents. The workshop allowed attendees to experience the fun and relaxation of potting plants. Group photo of attendees and their potted plants.
