2021-11-30

To help Farmers’ Academy students gain a better understanding of medicinal herb cultivation techniques and industrial management, the Taitung District Agricultural Research and Extension Station (TTDARES) of the Council of Agriculture, Executive Yuan held the Farmers’ Academy Novice Class on Medicinal Herb Cultivation and Usage from November 17 to 19 at the TTDARES. It included visits to industry sites and hands-on practice to boost participants’ awareness of overall industry development. Besides providing practical means to confirm knowledge acquired in the classroom, participants also learned what is required to develop the industry further, giving them a strong foundation for their futures in agriculture. All of them said the class was highly informative and stimulated creativity. Through interaction with lecturers and each other, participants were able to expand their networks and share resources, which will be of significant help in their future endeavors. They were told that if they have any technical-related problems, they may ask the TTDARES for assistance or its Department of Agricultural Extension to refer them to someone who can help, as researchers at the TTDARES are happy to help. They were also welcomed to return anytime to share about their experiences and wished all the best on their paths forward in medicinal herb cultivation.
