Eating Healthy Starts at the Source TTDARES Holds “Lecture on Safe Agrochemical Use on Small-leaf Vegetables Commonly Used in School Lunches”

In an effort to provide guidance to those growing vegetables to be used in school lunches so as to ensure students’ health, the Taitung District Agricultural Research and Extension Station (TTDARES) of the Council of Agriculture, Executive Yuan held its Lecture on Safe Agrochemical Use on Small-leaf Vegetables Commonly Used in School Lunches on October 8 at the Chenggong Farmers’ Association. Hosted by TTDARES Deputy Director Chen Yu-chu, the event was attended by 35 people from the office of Legislator Liu Chao-hao, the Agriculture and Food Agency’s Eastern Regional Office, the Taitung County Government, the Chenggong Farmers’ Association, and Chenggong Agricultural and Production Marketing Team. It focused on techniques and safe agrochemical use for disease/pest control on small-leaf vegetables as well as the control of specific crop pests. Those present lauded the event as highly informative and beneficial.

 

TTDARES Deputy Director Chen Yu-chu hosts the Lecture on Safe Agrochemical Use on Small-leaf Vegetables Commonly Used in School Lunches. Cai Shu-ren, a department chief at the TTDARES, speaks on measures to control specific crop pests. Attendees learned much about keeping vegetables safe.
