In an effort to promote the development of the organic agriculture industry in Taitung, the Taitung District Agricultural Research and Extension Station (TTDARES) of the Council of Agriculture, Executive Yuan held an Organic Agriculture Promotion Lecture on February 21 at the Fulyuwan Organic Farm in Donghe Township. TTDARES Director Chen Hsin-yen hosted the event. Topics spoken on included the production of liquid organic fertilizer, smart fertilization concepts, and organic disease/pest control techniques. The TTDARES also announced that it provides free soil, plants, irrigation water analysis, and diagnostic services for disease/pest control so as to aid farmers in overcoming the difficulties associated with organic farming. This will increase farmers’ willingness to go organic and will further push the overall agricultural industry in Taitung in an environmentally-friendly direction.
