TTDARES Holds “Organic Agriculture Promotion Lecture” to Promote Development of Organic Cultivation for Special Crops

In promoting the development of organic cultivation for special crops, the Taitung District Agricultural Research and Extension Station (TTDARES) of the Council of Agriculture, Executive Yuan held its “Organic Agriculture Promotion Lecture” on September 30 at the Sunrise Club House meeting room of the Taimali Farmers’ Association. TTDARES Director Chen Hsin-yen hosted the event. During the lecture, organic cultivation techniques, organic fertilization management, rational fertilization methods, and organic disease and pest control techniques were discussed. Moreover, attendees were told that the TTDARES provides free soil, plants, irrigation water analysis, and disease and pest diagnosis to help growers deal with potential problems associated with organic farming and increase willingness to turn from traditional to organic farming methods.
