Female Grower Shares Experience on Careful, Healthy, High-Quality Atemoya Orchard Management

In an effort to promote healthy management of atemoya orchards in Taitung, the Taitung District Agricultural Research and Extension Station (TTDARES) of the Council of Agriculture, Executive Yuan held the Outstanding Atemoya Orchard Management Conference on February 17. TTDARES Director Chen Hsin-yen stated that the winner of the recent Outstanding Atemoya Orchard Management Contest was invited to the event to share on management methods so that atemoya production techniques and healthy management concepts may be promoted and adopted by more growers. Chen also expressed hopes that all growers would work to produce high-quality, safe fruit for the benefit of consumers, growers, and environmental sustainability.

Miss Peng Qian-hui, the grower who won the recent Outstanding Atemoya Orchard Management Contest, shared about her experience and gave practical on-site demonstrations for all to learn from. Peng stated that she has been growing produce for 22 years. She places special importance on orchard cleanliness with feminine care, being very cautious in her use of agrochemicals. As a result, her orchard has an extremely pleasant look that has won her awards year after year.
