Enhanced Weeding Technique for Organic Rice Fields TTDARES Demonstrates Rice Transplanting with Paper Mulch

The Taitung District Agricultural Research and Extension Station (TTDARES) of the Ministry of Agriculture held its Rice Transplanting with Paper Mulch Demonstration Event in Guanshan and Chishang on the respective mornings of March 4 and 5, 2026, presenting a technology to lessen the burden of weeding for organic rice growers and thus reduce labor costs, and to promote the organic, eco-friendly cultivation of rice. 140 farmers attended the event to see how this labor-saving technology can help boost Taitung’s organic industry.
