To present research achievements related to resilience and sustainability in agriculture, the Taitung District Agricultural Research and Extension Station (TTDARES) held the Resilient, Sustainable Agriculture and Annual Experimental Research Achievements Conference on January 10, 2025, which was attended by over 190 people including experts in the industrial, administrative, and academic sectors and farmers. Experts and agricultural agency representatives gave lectures, and the TTDARES presented an annual report on major research achievements. The exchange of such knowledge and experience was aimed at helping more farmers come to understand the importance of resilience and sustainability so that all may work together to create an agricultural mode that is sustainable for the environment.
The conference was themed on resilient and sustainable agriculture and also included the TTDARES’ three core values (Indigenous people’s traditional crops, early ripening and full harvests, and organic LOHAS living) in the presentations while furthering exchanges between industry, the government, and academia. TTDARES Director Chen Hsin-yen stated that the TTDARES has long furthered numerous kinds of agricultural technology R&D in the region to boost crop resilience to adversity while advancing sustainability through the circular use of resources, which are aimed at making the local agricultural industry safe, healthy, and competitive on the market. The TTDARES will continue focusing on the local area in developing more technology to make Taitung an example of the incorporation of social culture, technology, and agriculture, which will in turn bring glory to Taitung.
