To advance the plan for organic farming development in Hualien and Taitung, the TTDARES has developed a system and related technology for eco-friendly pest control in organic orchards, and the results have been exceptional. On July 12, 2023 at the Binlang demonstration orchard of the TTDARES Banchiu Branch Station, the Eco-friendly Monkey Control Technology Seminar was held. The development and introduction of environmentally friendly technology and strategies for keeping monkey damage down was discussed, including improved monkey-protection nets and a monkey-protection net roller, and participants were allowed to try their hands at it. With emphasis on pest control that is safe for the environment, the TTDARES has developed all kinds of technology in the hope that more growers will join the ranks of organic, eco-friendly farming, in turn improving the overall agricultural environment.
