Sugar apples and atemoyas are important crops in Taitung, so in order to promote healthy crop management and production in which growers produce safe, high-quality fruit, the TTDARES held the 2021 Outstanding Sugar Apple and Atemoya Orchard Contest in December 2021. 59 growers joined, and after the two phases of fruit quality evaluation and orchard evaluation, the winner of the sugar apple event was Ye Xin-yan, and the winner of the atemoya event was Lin Pei-ying. Through this annual contest, the TTDARES sees that growers’ management concepts have continually progressed over the years: Not only are their fields clean and orderly, but their trees are robust, healthy, and managed with methods that are ecofriendly and thus ensure consumers’ health. As a result, the fruit quality is excellent and meets food safety standards, which means consumers may enjoy it worry-free.
