Health crop development has been viewed with increasing importance in recent years, and the Taitung District Agricultural Research and Extension Station (TTDARES) of the Council of Agriculture, Executive Yuan has invested great effort and achieved outstanding results in the R&D of such functional crops as gac, djulis, and roselles in the areas of processing and added value since 2016.
Medical and Pharmaceutical Industry Technology and Development Center (PITDC) general manager Liu Te-ren and Taiwan Agricultural Research Institute (TARI) deputy-director general Tsay Jyh-rong visited the TTDARES on October 4, 2019. With Tsay as a witness, Liu (representing the PITDC) and TTDARES director Chen Hsin-yen signed the agreement.
The two agencies will work together in sharing information, talent, and capabilities, linking their cultivation and processing technologies so as to push the potential for highly valuable development in Taiwan’s health crops and promote the industrialization of their R&D achievements.
