So as to augment the management and guidance capabilities of agricultural extension agents, the TTDARES held the “Agricultural Extension Agent Guidance Training” on August 30. The morning session was a discussion on organic agriculture as well as food and agriculture education led by Professor Dong Shi-rui, who is also the chair of the Taiwan Agricultural Extension Association. Dong spoke on the current developmental trends and vision for organic growing along with the importance of food and agriculture education. He suggested that classes should be held that integrate education regarding agriculture, food, and the environment along with such elements as special local agricultural features and traditional culture, which would turn Taitung into a place for unique food and agriculture education extension. The afternoon session was led by CEO Vivian Chang of Yes I Creative International taught on the writing and carrying out of plans, emphasizing that plan objectives and the methods used to implement them must be clear, concise, and logical in order to bring out the plan’s special highlights and find favor with reviewers. Those who attended expressed that the wealth of information presented is certain to help them in their work.
