The Taitung District Agricultural Research and Extension Station (TTDARES) of the Council of Agriculture, Executive Yuan held the “Organic Agriculture Promotional Lecture” on January 8, 2016 at the Yanping Township Administration Office in order to drive the development of organic farming in Taitung. The event was hosted by TTDARES Director Chen Hsin-yen. Organic fertilization management, smart fertilization, and techniques on organic disease and pest control were discussed at the lecture. Furthermore, growers were informed that the TTDARES provides free soil, plant body and irrigation water analysis, and diagnostic services for disease and pest control. In this way, growers will be aided in overcoming the potential difficulties of organic farming and will be more willing to turn to this type of farming.
