In an effort to help local chrysanthemum growers produce safe products, the Taitung District Agricultural Research and Extension Station (TTDARES) of the Council of Agriculture, Executive Yuan held the “Safe Pesticide Use on Chrysanthemums and Smart Fertilization Lecture/Taiwan Agricultural Product QR code system Seminar” on September 23 at the Jianhe Sugar Apple Production and Marketing Team Goods Collection Center of the Taitung Regional Farmers’ Association. Chrysanthemum production and marketing team members from Zhiben and Beinan enthusiastically attended. Also present were representatives from the Agriculture and Food Agency, the Eastern Regional Branch of the Agriculture and Food Agency (and its subsidiary Taitung office), the Taitung substation of Tea Research and Extension Station, the Taitung County Government, the Taitung County Farmers’ Association (and local branches), and the tea drying industry. The seminar included information on the Taiwan Agricultural Production QR code System, an explanation on the procedures for this year’s chrysanthemum sampling and testing, cultivation management, fertilization management, and techniques for pest and disease control. The goal of such cooperation between growers and authorities in the industry is to promote the sustainable development of chrysanthemum production through safe, healthy management techniques of crops and the implementation of the Production QR code System.
