So as to sustain development of the custard apple industry in Taitung by ensuring safe, high-quality fruit, the Taitung District Agricultural Research and Extension Station (TTDARES) of the Executive Yuan’s Council of Agriculture held a lecture and forum on the safe use of agrochemicals on August 12. It was hosted by TTDARES Director Chen Hsin-yen, and growers enthusiastically participated. During the forum, issues spoken on included agrochemical residue control for atemoyas, regulations and noteworthy facts related to agrochemical use, and the current state of atemoya exports. Growers were also encouraged to join the Taiwan Agriculture and Food Traceability System to increase self-management capability and boost competitiveness.
