The Taitung District Agricultural Research and Extension Station (TTDARES) of the Council of Agriculture, Executive Yuan held the Circular Agriculture Rice Straw Recycling Demonstration Event on November 30, 2020, at the Guanshan Rice School, hosted by TTDARES Director Chen Hsin-yen. Farmers were able to listen to instruction and see demonstrations on the use of rice straw decomposers and solid/liquid waste-produced biogas and the recycling of rice straw. The government is strongly promoting circular agriculture, and if rice growers use rice straw decomposers and solid/liquid waste-produced biogas, or if they reuse rice straw in weed management, they will be able to reduce their dependence on chemical fertilizers and herbicides, thus achieving another step in eco-friendly farming.
