Creating an Ecology Network and Promoting Eco-friendly Farming: TTDARES Holds “Homeland Green Network Eco-friendly Rice Farming Demonstration Event”

2020-07-02

In promoting eco-friendly farming, the Taitung District Agricultural Research and Extension Station (TTDARES) of the Council of Agriculture, Executive Yuan has built an ecology protection network, part of which included the Homeland Green Network Eco-friendly Rice Farming Demonstration Event on June 20 in the fields of rice grower Xiao Ren-yi in Chishang Township. The event, hosted by TTDARES Director Chen Hsin-yen, introduced methods of eco-friendly rice fertilization and pest/disease management. The TTDARES provides guidance to growers in a number of aspects for eco-friendly rice farming, helping them overcome problems they may encounter. In this way, the TTDARES and growers are working together to create a green network aimed at protecting the local ecology, in turn working toward the vision of a new, environmentally conscious agriculture industry.
